What Is Electronic Identity Verification?
Electronic Identity Verification (EIDV) uses a secure platform (GBG GreenID) to match your details against government and private databases. This process may include:
- Document checks (eg. passport, driver’s licence)
- Biometric verification (eg. facial recognition)
- Secure database queries.
This is a simple process that is best done on a smartphone with a front and rear camera, allowing you to upload your photo ID, take a selfie, and complete verification digitally.
How it works
Use your smart phone to Scan the QR Code
Use a smartphone to ensure you can use the front and rear cameras to scan documents and take a selfie.
Upload your ID documents
Follow the instructions to upload or take photos of your valid photo ID (eg. passport, driver’s licence).
Biometric match
You may be asked to take a selfie to match your ID photo. Please ensure you are in a well-lit area with an uncluttered background.
Verification complete
Once verified, you’ll be able to proceed with your application or service.

Why you need to verify your identity
To protect your privacy, prevent fraud, and comply with Australian financial regulations, including Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, all members need to verify their identity before becoming a member or submitting a home loan application, some existing members will need to complete re-verification.
The easiest way to complete this is through Electronic Identity Verification (EIDV), which is secure, fast, and convenient. It helps us:
- Speed up approvals and reduce delays
- Minimise errors and manual handling
- Protect sensitive data from breaches
- Ensure compliance with legal obligations.
