BankVic is deeply saddened by the passing of former Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Mick Miller AO LVO QPM, aged 92 years.

Mick was the Chief Commissioner from 1977 to 1987. During this time he was instrumental in supporting the Police Credit Co-operative (now BankVic) and the establishment of Victoria Police Legacy (VPL) in 1980, alongside Mr Bryan Kelly QPM and Mr Peter Ryan.

He understood the importance of financial security for those who serve; he championed the support of Police families who lost loved ones in the line of duty, and he cleared the way for women to have equal career opportunities in the Police Force.

Mick Miller’s legacy, will be revered for generations to come.

BankVic would like to extend our sincerest sympathies to Mick’s family, friends, colleagues, the Victorian Police and VPL Communities. May he Rest in Peace.
